Italy Wins!

Italia wins the shootout! Mayhem ensues.

Commercial Drive (cont'd)

Every bistro and cafe with a TV monitor was overflowing with nail-biting spectators. The poor bloke sitting down must've tired of tip-toeing.

Vancouver Jazz Festival
July 2006

I came across this kickin' jazz/fusion band at the Festival. I grew up with the likes of Earth Wind and Fire, Level 42, and Spyro Gyra -- so listening to their old school sound was pure pleasure.

Busker Doug

I met Doug the Busker down at Granville Island the other day. The market had closed and foot traffic was almost non-existent. Nonetheless, Doug was very content to entertain an audience of one - himself.

"Stompin' Tom"

Doug sang this war-protest song to me that he had recently penned. He would've given Stompin' Tom a run for his money.

Busker's Boot

If this boot could talk . . . Oh, the stories it would tell.

Open Field

The serenity of the this empty playing field accentuated by an aging drinking fountain caught my eye.

Marching down Main St.

Protest March

On "National Workers Day" I came across this protest march at Main and 18th. Being surrounded by people passionate about their cause was both contagious and empowering.

Storm Brewing

Red filter

I felt like a storm chaser with this shot. I was driving near SE False Creek and saw this gigantic 'mushroom cloud' hovering over Science World (the white dome) and rushed to mount my camera from a strategic vantage point. By the time I triggered the shot the cloud had slightly shifted. Oh well, there's always next time.
